150 Best Slow Cooker Recipes ~ 10th Anniversary Edition!

On the occasion of its tenth anniversary, it’s extremely gratifying to be writing an introduction to this revised edition of my first book The 150 Best Slow Cooker Recipes. The book has been extraordinarily successful, selling about 400,000 copies and garnering many favorable comments from reviewers and consumers over the years.

In addition to adding new recipes, this revised edition places more emphasis on healthy eating by, for instance, reducing the amount of cream called for in some original recipes and increasing the number of whole-grain options. In addition, the number of fish and seafood and vegetarian/vegan recipes has been significantly expanded.

I have also provided halving tips with recipes to accommodate the needs of single people and/or couples, who want to use their slow cookers to produce smaller-yield recipes. Because more and more people are using their slow cookers when they entertain, I’ve noted recipes, which, in my opinion, are “Entertaining Worthy.” Similarly recipes that are suitable for vegans or vegetarians have also been identified.

In keeping with all my books, I have also included a wide range of recipes that will appeal to many tastes and requirements, from great family food to more sophisticated recipes for entertaining. I hope you will try the recipes and that you will enjoy them as much as I — and my family and friends — have done over the years.
