Hints for Successful Bread Machine Baking
by Donna Washburn and Heather Butt

1. Measure all the ingredients accurately.
2. Remove the baking pan from the bread machine when measuring and adding recipe ingredients; do not measure over the bread pan.
3. Follow your bread machine manufacturer’s recommended order of adding recipe ingredients.
4. Consult your operating manual for the best ingredient temperature.
5. Keep dried fruits, grains and cereals away from the liquid in the pan.
6. Use the type of yeast specified in the recipe.
7. Make a well in the top of the flour for the yeast. It should not touch the liquid.
8. Keep cinnamon and garlic away from the yeast as they inhibit the rising.
9. Measure the fruit and nuts for the “add ingredient” signal and place them beside the bread machine before starting the machine.
10. Do not use the timer for recipes containing eggs, fresh milk, cheese and other perishables.
